ROCKS BALDY, APHA Palomino Overo Stallion
featuring the bloodlines of Skipper W ~ Master Baron Bell ~ Leo San ~
Bar Money ~ Mr. Winters ~ Racing Form ~ Moon Lark and more
After taking a couple of years off from breeding & showing we are now awaiting another colorful crop of foals in the spring of 2008.

Pictured above is Romars Sunray (1977 AQHA-PHBA Palomino) who, at 31 years old, is the matriarch of the band of merry mares.  Her daughters are A Skip Ana Star aka "Skipper" (1996 AQHA Sorrel), Dona Casanova aka "YoYo" (1992 AQHA Brown) and Bailarina de Espana aka "Dancer" (1991 AQHA Buckskin)

Sunray is an own daughter of Skipador (by Skipper W) and is out of a grand-daughter of Royal King.  She is still going strong after producing eleven (11) foals, a brief fun-show career at age 20, and serving as a youth lesson horse.  She continues to charm all who know her and is the maternal grand-dam of our APHA Palomino Overo stallion, Rocks Baldy (shown above right).

Storm Damage Update: June 12, 2008
Due to extensive damage to the barns, as well as the house, it looks like my show season this year is a bust.  I have four mares which were to be started under saddle this spring/summer and are still out on pasture.  If you are intersted in any of the young mares listed on the for sale page please drop me an email.  At this point any and all offers are being considered.  There are some really nice horses which need to be sold and trained.  I regret that I am not going to be able to do the initial training.  Still waiting on insurance so I can't rebuild my barns or send them out to another facility for that training.
The 2008 foals will also be for sale once they are weaned.  If at all possible I will try to show them some this fall.

May 10, 2008 Tornado
On Saturday evening an EF4 tornado cut a path at least a mile wide thru our area .  Our place was on the southern edge of the storm and sustained damage to the barn, house and fences.  Thankfully none of the horses, dogs or cats received even a scratch, bump or bruise and are doing great, including the babies.  The total devastation began less than 1/4 mile north of us.
Our hearts go out to those who have lost family and friends, including horses, cattle, goats and other livestock, homes and business.
Thanks go out to the local electric cooperatives and their counterparts from all areas who came to help restore power, the emergency personnel, and thousands of volunteers just lending a helping hand or shoulder to cry on.  It will be a long time before this area looks like home again.
Thanks, too, to all who have called and emailed to check our well-being.
